Meet Coach Elna

Cultivating a love for the game

As the Founder and Head Coach of Netball Ninjas Academy, Elna van Rensburg brings over a decade of coaching excellence to the Netball Court, coupled with a Bachelor of Technology degree in Officiating & Coaching Science. ​ Elna is not only a Level 2 Umpire and Coach but is also proudly affiliated with NSA (Netball South Africa) and SASCA (South African Sports Coaching Association). ​ Her coaching philosophy is firmly rooted in learning through play. With a patient and encouraging approach, she focuses on building fundamental Netball skills. She tailors each session to harness the unique abilities of every child, fostering a safe, supportive, and empowering environment.

Our Focus 

Cultivating learning through play

GRADE RRR - R

Foundation Phase - Learning to play

FUNdamentals. Learning of basic netballs kills. Learning to listen and respond to instructions. Working together in a team. Understanding a simple version of the game. Mastering basic movement skills.

Grade 1-3

Beginner Phase Learning to train

Mastering of FUNdamental netball skills. Understanding the game, player positions & playing areas. Introducing more advanced playing skills such as attacking and defending.

GRADE 4-7

Intermediate Phase - Training to compete

Mastering and fine tuning of basic and advanced netball skills. Holistic understanding of netball. Incorporating technical and strategical play.
